One of the things that make the Oasis an amazing group of people is that so many of them have been together for such a long time.  It’s rare nowadays to find folks who are so committed to a local church that they can endure all the inevitable bumps and bruises that make up this ride we call the “ministry.”

Name: Doug Hansen

When did u start walking with Christ?   age 6 and re-dedicated at 13 years old

When did u join Oasis?  9 months before June 17, 1984 ( since conception)

In which ministry do you serve? Kore and locking up church

Favorite verse and why? "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” - Matthew 6:34 (The Message)

I love this verse for its simplicity in nature, but difficulty in acting out. It makes me focus on hearing and obeying God now and believing that wherever He takes me – He’s the one who is taking me and providing for me (not myself).

Personal

Greatest influence: My parents because of the values they have shown me through their own lives, as well as the example they set in how to walk with Christ everyday.

Fondest Oasis Moment: I'm torn, but probably the Kore Talent Show, watching three men with a combined weight of nearly 1,000 lbs. doing ballet...need I say more?

How has serving blessed your life? It's given me an opportunity to play a part in one of the most beautiful things you can find, the Bride of Christ. Just to know that what I do helps the Oasis be better at what it has been called to do, makes it that much more important.
